MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY AND AT THE INGHAM COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION, LOCATED AT 301 BUSH STREET, MASON, MICHIGAN, TELEPHONE #517-676-9722 FROM 6:30 A.M. TO 4:30 P.M., MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.  BOTH REGULAR APPLICATIONS AND THOSE FROM THE ROAD COMMISSION WEB SITE (http://www.inghamcrc.org) WILL BE ACCEPTED BY MAIL AND CAN BE ADDRESSED TO THE INGHAM COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION, P.O. HIGHWAY WORKER CLASS 3.                           Two Positions                        $16.82 / hour

 

Responsibilities: Operates single axle trucks, front end loaders, tow pavers, rotary mowers, and performs manual labor such as pot hole patching, ditching, brush cutting, tree removal, and general road maintenance. 

 

Experience:  Requirements for this classification include operational knowledge of trucks, loaders and maintenance equipment, familiarity with a variety of hand tools.  Experience with truck driving, road construction and maintenance is required. 

 

Other Requirements:  Must have a valid Michigan drivers license with the CDL Group A endorsement prior to beginning employment.  Must successfully pass a physical and a test for illegal drugs and controlled substances.

 

Essential Job Functions:  Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 pounds, driving, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping and squatting.

 

Location:  The Ingham County Road Commission has two (2) Class 3 vacancies.  One vacancy is at the Road Commission’s Metro District Garage located at 5613 S. Aurelius Road, Lansing; and one is at the Road Commission’s Eastern District Garage located at 1335 E. Howell Road, Williamston.
